Freestyle FAQ
What is FREESTYLE wedding photography?
FREESTYLE is a free-flowing technique used by very few photographers around the world. It’s a style that is best suited when you are trying to tell a story, use maximum creativity, and making sure everyone involved has a lot of fun! It captures the heart and soul of an event.
Is FREESTYLE more expensive?
Some brides make the first mistake, which you will find in my Special Report “The Seven Biggest Mistakes Brides Make When Hiring a Wedding Photographer” (receive a PDF copy immediately from the home page). They choose their photographer based on price alone and end up regretting it. A top-notch FREESTYLE wedding photographer typically commands the best price, but there is a reason for this. You don’t go to McDonalds and expect 5 star cuisine. Do you? It is the same with photographers. Essentially, you get what you pay for. The true value is in the talent, skill, attitude, experience, work, creativity, and confidence that a top-notch photographer brings to your wedding day memories. But most of all the true value is in the photographers of your wedding day that you, your friends and family will enjoy for years, and years.
What is the real price you are paying when you end up with pictures you are not crazy about?
Why is it so expensive?
Wedding photography, especially good photography, is hard to compare to all the other services and expenses that you carefully budget for your special day.
It isn’t like buying gas, bread or any other day-to-day commodity. There are important things like creativity, experience, the disposition of the photographer on your wedding day, confidence and of course, the final images. So much more has to be considered when you look at hiring a wedding photographer.
Sure, many photographers shoot in similar styles. But, we don’t. At least we feel that we fit in the small minority of photographers who know how and can actually deliver truly out-stand FREESTYLE photography. The factor that we bring is buried deep beneath the physical products and tangible items you take home. It’s experience, artistic ability, and most important. A love for Wedding Photography. That’s what you are really investing in.
What type of photographs are created using the FREESTYLE approach?
FREESTYLE wedding photography blends classic and romantic poses, posed yet relaxed, candid photos, photojournalism, casual formals, details, weird and off beat poses, architectural, pictorial, high fashion, and bizarre angles. Each situation will determine the style used and is largely up to the creative eye of the photographer.
Can any photographer shoot this way?
Shooting weddings is a very demanding responsibility. It takes confidence, and the ability to communicate without offending anyone, and the photographer needs to deal very effectively with “surprises” and unexpected stressful events. Not to mention it takes a level headed and well organized professional, even in the middle of chaos. It looks easy int eh hands of a true pro. But years of experience will hone the skills of a true FREESTYLE wedding photographer, so that the images free-flow in a natural zen-like fashion.
What kind of cameras and equipment does the FREESTYLE wedding photographer use?
The FREESTYLE photographer travels light and fast. There is a reason for this. Big bulky equipment only slows you down and creates severe limits and restrictions. Of course only the very best camera and lenses are used (Canon). This is essential when you combine the creative eye and good quality image capture that top notch cameras deliver.
How many images are usually in the FREESTYLE wedding?
Every wedding is different. Many things will determine the exact amount you will receive. Because the FREESTYLE approach does not use a “cookie-cutter” approach to capturing wedding photos and the story is the heart and soul of FREESTYLE, this number varies. A good rule of thumb however is between 300 on the lower end and as much as 8oo images or more.
What if you’re sick or something big happens on my wedding day, and I’m stuck without a photographer?
Of course there are no absolute guarantees, are there? Anything can happen. But you should know that in I have had god fortune of good health and never missed one event. I eat healthy, take vitamins daily, and exercise regularly.
It takes precautions to ensure that everything goes smooth. This includes schedules, health, events in my life, etc. I even work close with the bride and groom so that there schedules go as smoothly as possible without compromising the quality of photography.
