On location Maternity Shoot

March 14, 2009 by Paul

Eric, and Kimberly are expecting their first child in a week or two.  I had the pleasure of photographing a maternity session at their home.  We figured it would be easier on Kimberly in her home.  I brought my studio with me, and scouted out a location with enough room for the studio lights.  We found a spot in the finished basement that would give us the room to set up.   Here is what the location looked like:

As you can see I had a few things I would have to work out in my post Photoshop work.  I am not one of those photographers that always says, “I’ll fix it in Photoshop”.  But, in this situation.  I didn’t have a choice.

The red wall looked really sharp, and wanted to stay with the same color scheme.  Here is what I came up with:

This next image is my favorite.  It really shows Eric’s love for his Son.  As a Father myself.  I really love it when a moment like this happens, and how people open themselves up to me.  These kind of moments are special, and keeps people grounded to what’s really important.

I am so greatful to be a part Eric, and Kimberly’s life.  I am excited for their new journey into parenthood.
